TOBI:UNKNOWN is a non-selling dummybook label,
founded on an anonymous dummybook practice that began in 2022.
The books are made, but never sold.
They move quietly from hand to hand through lending and passing on.
Each dummybook exists not to be owned,
but simply as a trace of a gaze.
If someone wishes to publish a title,
the label only lends the original dummybook.
What happens after that – including whether it is sold or not –
is left entirely to them.
Unsigned books. No explanations. A nameless author.
To hold all of this together,
the artist, the series, and the label all share the same name: TOBI:UNKNOWN.
TOBI:UNKNOWN は、2022年から続けてきた
匿名の dummybook 制作を土台にした、売らない dummybook レーベルです。
本はつくられますが、販売はしません。
レンタルや手渡しで、人から人へ静かに移動していきます。
dummybook は所有されるためではなく、
ただ「視線の痕跡」としてそこに存在していればいい、という考えです。
どこかが「出版したい」と言ってくれたとき、
レーベルがするのは、原作（オリジナル dummybook）を貸すことだけ。
その先をどう扱うか、売るか売らないかは、相手に委ねます。
署名のない冊子、説明のない写真、名を出さない作家。
それらをひとつに束ねるために、
作家名もシリーズ名もレーベル名も、すべて TOBI:UNKNOWN を名乗っています。
